Help MassBike at our April and May Volunteer Nights

Make friends, help cycling, and enjoy free pizza! If you’re willing to
stuff, fold, and seal, we’ve got some envelopes that need your assistance.
Please join us for our MassBike Volunteer Night on Monday, April 25 from
5:00-8:30 p.m. here at our offices at 20 Park Plaza, Suite 1028, Boston. In
the spirit of Bike Month, we’ll also be having an additional volunteer night
at the office on Wednesday, May 18 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. Please help us with a
few hours of your time! Please RSVP to bikexec at massbike.org.

MassBike Seeks Summer Interns

Please forward widely! MassBike seeks summer interns. Whether you’re a
college or grad student, a retiree, or someone in between jobs looking to
build new skills, MassBike has a place for you. We are seeking interns to
help with substantive projects that advance cycling advocacy and help you
meet your professional goals. Our internships are unpaid, but we are
committed to ensuring that our interns take on critical projects and develop
their professional skills. Full-time is preferred (college credit
available), but even one day a week helps MassBike tremendously. The more
time you are able to commit, the better the learning experience. Internships
are available in Graphic Design, Fundraising/Grant Writing, Advocacy/Policy,
Communications, Diversity Outreach, and Tech/Web. Please send a resume and
cover letter to mike at massbike.org.

Pioneer Valley Planning Commission Lecture on Bicycling—Thursday, April 21
in West Springfield

This year the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission will release the
long-awaited update of our 1984 Pioneer Valley Bicycle Map. Come to a talk
at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 and find out why the Pioneer Valley
Planning Commission spends so much time promoting and encouraging bicycling.
You'll hear tips to help you become a safer bicyclist--sharing the road with
motorists, bicycling in traffic, making sure your bicycle is ready for
commuting, and planning safe routes. Participants will receive a free copy
of the new bike map before it is released publicly! The event takes place at
the West Springfield Public Library, 200 Park St., West Springfield.

MassBike is Moving: Please Note our New Address

If you need to hunt down MassBike, please be aware that we’re moving. For
the past year and a half, we have called 20 Park Plaza, Suite 1028 in Boston
home. As of May 2, we’re growing our office space and will be moving five
floors down in the same building. Our new address will be 20 Park Plaza,
Ste. 528, Boston, MA 02116.

Wanted: An Electronics Tinkerer

MassBike has a donated printer that can’t quite get its act together. If you
’re the kind of person who likes to mess around with unruly electronic
devices, we’d love for you to drop by our offices and help stop the paper
jams. Please email mike at massbike.org to help out.

New Member Benefit: Discounted Windsurfing!

Just in time for summer, Cape Cod Windsurfing has teamed up with MassBike to
offer 10% discounts on rentals. This is only one of many great benefits that
come with your MassBike membership (don’t forget the yoga and acupuncture
savings!).

Lunchtime Volunteers Wanted

Do you work near the Public Garden in downtown Boston? Feel like using your
lunch hour to help cycling advocacy? MassBike is looking for a few good
lunchtime volunteers to come in once a week, or however often you can spare,
during your lunch hour. We have small projects each week that need volunteer
power, such as helping with mailings or data entry. To sign up to help,
please email mike at massbike.org.
