I rode out to Newtonville from Boston this morning:  headwind all the 
way...if ya stop pedaling, it's back to Boston backwards.  the safety factor depends 
a bit on how experienced you are:  if you are tense around traffic when it is 
calm, then the wind will exacerbate those feelings.  be patient, gear down, 
wear glasses, and hum a good long song, or memoraize a sonnet...hoping the wind 
doesn't shift for the ride home : heck, I earned a tailwind today...
