[BCN] Looking for a coop house in Somerville or Cambridge

I’m a 46 year old woman with a lot of coop living experience
(including 11 years in my present house!).
I recently began working in Union Square
in Somerville and I’d love to find
a coop house within walking/biking distance.

I’m not in a hurry; I’m looking for a good “fit” with a
house and housemates rather than a speedy fix.

My ideal house would be vegetarian, with shared cooking and
cleaning responsibilities and good communication among housemates. I’d like housemates who are both fun and
responsible, preferably engaged in some type of positive social change. I would like a home that cherishes diversity
of age, race, sexual orientation, gender, relationship status, and abilities. My preference would be to live in a coop
with 8 to 10 housemates since, in my experience, that size allows for a
well-functioning coop house. One that is
also involved in the surrounding community would be a plus. I’m very open to children as housemates, and
would want to have children as visitors even if they are not housemates.

Regular housemeetings and fun activities (potlucks, movie
nights, skill-sharing…) would also be a very welcome part of my next home. I’d like a home that while flexible enough to
deal with the changes that are part of all our lives, also has an ongoing
fairly stable core.

I’m a good vegetarian cook and responsible housemate. I have good communication and facilitation
skills. I am a community organizer, so I
often have evening meetings, but I’d try to be home for dinner when I can. I’m straight, but not narrow, as that button
says. I love music and dancing,
chocolate, movies, and people. I lived
for 5 and ½ years in Brazil
and speak Portuguese. I go to Brazil
for a month every two years to visit friends and keep up my permanent residency
there.

If your house and my desires and characteristics seem like a
possible match, and there may be a housemate opening in the spring or summer, I
would love to meet with you and discuss possibilities.
