Hi Everyone,
I forgot to include contact information in my post below. We've set up an
email account folks can write to if they are interested in a room. It is:

Subject: Come build a home and community with us in Davis Square
To: bcn at lists.bostoncoop.net
Hi everyone,
We are an informal coop/shared house in Davis Square looking for three new
housemates to join our lovely home on June 1st. I am copying our craigslist
add in below - thanks for helping us spread the word far and wide!
Peace,
Elizabeth

About Us:
We are two groovy women in our late 20s and 30s: jazz musicians, urban
planners, bike commuters, cooks, dancers, cat-lovers, community builders,
live-lightly-on-the-earthers, mostly vegetarian, computer programmers,
activists, social innovators, non-profit types, non-tv-watchers, travelers,
big laughers, pot-luck organizers, and hubs of social activity.
About our house:
Our home and community are about sharing – sharing food and cooking
together, sharing chores that keep our house beautiful, sharing friends and
social communities, etc. We're not a formal coop (no set rules), which makes
it more important that we're all on the same page.
The house itself is beautiful and super convenient! We're half a block from
Diesel, 20 feet from the farmers' market, one block from the bike trail and
the T stop, two blocks from Pemberton Market (organic groceries), and a
block from the fabulous center of Davis (Somerville Theater, music in the
square, JP Licks, etc).
We have a small back yard, part of which we use to grow veggies in, and a
back porch. There's a free washer and dryer in the basement. The house has a
nice bay window in the living room and is all hardwood floors. The living
room, dining room, and kitchen are all large, and the kitchen has a
dishwasher, gas stove, and new fridge. We have three offstreet parking spots
for our one car, and nearby streets have plenty of parking. We live with a
wonderful cat named Leo, and are open to having another friendly kitty. Our
house is a smoke-free environment. We have space in the common areas for
comfy furniture, art, and personal flair.
The house is three stories, with three bedrooms on the second floor and two
on the third. Three of our housemates will be leaving (getting married and
going to grad school) and we're excited to welcome three new people into our
lovely shared home. The rooms for rent are: two medium-sized attic rooms
(12x13) renting for $580 and $600 (the $580 has a non-standard closet) and
one itsy bitsy teenie weenie second floor room for $400 (but perhaps the
best value in all of Davis Square!) starting on June 1st. Our current lease
runs through August 31st, so you will be subletting for the summer, but we
are looking for folks who want to be a long-term part of our community.
About You:
Eager to be part of building a community with us, interested in sharing food
and cooking together, happy to participate in house meetings where we will
plan and create our awesome home, progressive, open, communicative, and
generally fun and fabulous! Bonus points for: previous group housing
experience, playing instruments, gardening, activism, speaking Spanish, and
inviting funky people to the social events we'll organize in our home. We
prefer to have gender balance, but the best overall fit for the community
we're looking to create takes the vegan carrot cake. :)
Please tell us about yourself and your vision of the community you want to
build with us!
Also, when you reply please tell us in the subject line of your email (to
14herbertstreet at gmail.com) which room you are interested in - thanks!
