Cambridge Housing Cooperative seeks new members

Well-established 10-person housing cooperative between Harvard and
Porter Squares in Cambridge seeks new members.

We are a lively and mature group of ten people from late 20s to 70s,
with a concentration of 30s folks. English is our day to day language,
and some Spanish and Portuguese are spoken in the house. We eat dinner
together once or twice a week, share chores, spend time together and
have active, independent lives. Politically, we range from near left to
radical. We're teachers, musicians, writers, filmmakers, students,
farmers, dancers and big thinkers. We have some potlucks, gatherings,
and workshops to educate and entertain ourselves and our communities and
hope to have more. Generally, we are a pretty quiet house. The house is
spacious, well-kept and well-suited to cooperative living. We have a
lovely back deck and garden and a small food garden.

We welcome a friendly, communicative, coop-minded person of any age or
background to join the house. We all commit to some specific
responsibilities, e.g. house dinners on Wednesdays, house meetings every
other Monday night, sharing chores, some committee work. We also commit
more generally to the success and well-being of the house. We encourage
people to contact us who have time and space in their lives to care for
their community and their home.

Please email (cambicoop at yahoo.com) with some information about yourself,
any cooperative living experience, a phone number and good time to call.

No pets.

Housemates join a non-profit to which we pay dues rather than rent.
Monthly costs vary, but average approximately $600, including all
utilities, food, newspapers, and good cheer.

We look forward to meeting you!
