[BCN] Opening at the Red House

We have two rooms available on the second floor of our house. We would
love for a couple (gay or straight) to move in, but will also consider
a single person.

The rooms are available as soon as we find the right people, and moving
day could be any time from July 1 to Fall. Rent for two people sharing
the space is $1000/month, which includes heat and all utilities. For
one person, it would be $600. (Food is extra.)

The Red House is on Prospect Hill, near Union Square, Somerville. It is
a beautiful Victorian, with 10 rooms (4 bedrooms and many shared and
common areas); also 2 porches, and a back yard. Our cellar, in addition
to housing a laundry room, is the pick-up point for both the Somerville
Food Co-op and the Vanguargen CSA (which means we have 3
refrigerators!) A dog and a cat are already here so we are not looking
for any more pets.

There is plenty of parking available if you have a car, and the house
is close to several bus lines. It's about a half-hour walk to either
the Red Line or the Green Line. (We also have a bike rack on the front
porch.)

The 3 housemates who are already here, Bob, Ron and Karla, are all
mature adults and would welcome people of any age to join us. We also
have a part-time housemate, Chloë, who spends most of her time in Haiti
(where she is involved in AIDS work) but is here for several weeks at a
time, several times a year.

We are omnivores who enjoy cooking for each other. We eat a varied diet
including some vegetarian meals and lots of fish and poultry.

If this sounds interesting to you, which we hope it will, here are two
options to take -- either telephone us (either 617-628-9096 or
617-629-0678), or send an email to <red_house at pop.mindspring.com>
answering the following questions (some of which we have lifted from
another post to this list!):

What is your life like?
What would you like to be doing in, say, two years from now?
What type of place are you looking to live in?
How would you describe your diet?
What does cooperative living mean to you?
Do you have any experience with living in a co-op?

Needless to say, you can also ask us any questions you can think of!
