JP Coop House Seeking Roommates!

4-5 Rooms Available September 1, November 1: 
$375-$500/month rent plus $100-$120/month for food and utilities

The house:
This amazing 9-bedroom-plus house is located next to the Pond in JP, a few minutes walk to the Stony Brook T stop, right off of Centre Street.  We have a little yard around us, a garden, laundry/storage in the basement, porches, plenty of bathrooms, two large common
 spaces, a sunroom, fireplaces that work, lots of windows, and sunny bedrooms, varying in size and space and rent cost.  Olive and
 Pasha (cat-friends) live here too.  

The roommates:
We are all in our 20's, and some of us enjoy things like cooking, gardening, performance art, books, music-playing, activism, organizing events, playing outside and so on. Queer-friendly!

The cooperative:
The household is in
 a bit of a transition state, at least until the late fall, so there is potential for changing things up.  However, here is how we have been working so far: everyone puts in $100-120 per month for all food and utilities. Household responsibilities of food shopping and cleaning are all shared.  Each person helps cook dinner (and clean up) with another roommate for the house one night per week (and in return, you get 4-5 nights of dinner available to you).  Right now, the household food we buy is vegan (although you can buy/cook non-vegan food for yourself).  We have a house meeting every other week where we check-in, communicate things in constructive ways, and make decisions by consensus.  Sometimes we use the common spaces in the house for fun events.
