That's the same organization.  It's gone through a lot of changes over many years.  I spent quite a bit of time there as a volunteer around 1976.  New Community Projects, as Buzz said, was originally a part of Project Place and later 'spun off' on its own.  NCP met for a while at a coop bookstore in Central Square called 100 Flowers.

What's Project Place, Buzz? Is it the one that know works with homeless
folks, which is now online at http://www.projectplace.org ?
