I should note that I know very little about the cooperative side of the
Onion River Co-op (aka "City Market"). I was somewhat involved when I
lived there, but that was nearly ten years ago. The thing that really
stands out about the Onion River Co-op is what an excellent supermarket
it is. The selection is fantastic (both organic/whole grain type stuff
and "regular" food), the prices are good, and the layout makes it really
enjoyable to shop. Even if there were no politics to it at all, it's
just the best place to shop.

It probably helps that it is the only pedestrian-accessible supermarket
in Burlington, and that it has some assistance from the city.
