Hi,
My name is Elizabeth Griswold. I am moving from California to the
Boston area September 7 to begin studies at Harvard Divinity School.
I’m an unpartnered bisexual European-American vegetarian female who just
turned 29, and I'm looking for a coop housing situation.
I’m interested in living in a coop because I've had good cooperative
living experiences in the past, I think it may be a good way to meet
like-minded individuals in a new town, and I believe in sharing
resources and experiences.
I lived in the multi-generational Los Angeles Catholic Worker community
for two years. We all worked communally as well, running a soup
kitchen, writing a newspaper, and doing a lot of resistance work around
peace and social justice issues.
I do speak Spanish, and also lived communally in Guatemala: 1) In a
house for international volunteers with an alternative energy project
making bike machines and 2) In a convent with an order of Catholic nuns
(though I myself am pursuing ordination with a Protestant denomination,
the United Church of Christ). To clear up any possible
misconceptions--Faith-based activism is at the core of my life and
commitments, but that means I believe God is love, and not that I try to
evangelize conservative so-called “family values.”
I currently live in a communal dorm type of set-up, and have also lived
communally in a more loose way with friends over the years.
I believe my past coop experience, in which I have learned more about
myself, others, and the world around us, could possibly be a good
contribution to a coop house. I also have an easy-going attitude, good
work ethic, and meditative spirituality.
If anyone has any leads for me, I'd really appreciate hearing back.
Thanks a bunch, and hope to hear back from you soon.
  Peace, Elizabeth
