Hi, everyone. Matt from the Seed Pod Co-op in Dorchester here--hope that
everyone is doing well! I jsut received the message below from Jason
Pramas, a local activist and organizer. Are any co-ops possibly able to
help out with housing some media activists who will be in Boston July 3rd,
4th, and 5th?
Read on, and let Jason know if you can help otu at jpramas at igc.org.
Thanks a lot!

Subject: housing for progressive media activists
Hi Matt,
As we discussed on the phone just now, I'm looking for essentially crash
space (with bathrooms) for up to 10 progressive media activists coming
from around the country to have an activist preconference on July 4 & 5
to the big Alliance for Community Media conference (being held in
Boston, July 5-8). They represent many cool groups like Media Alliance,
MediaTank, Youth Media Council, Esperanza Center, Media Empowerment
Project/San Antonio, and Reclaim the Media.
These folks are therefore looking for housing for the evenings of July
3rd, 4th and 5th.
I thought that maybe local progressive coops would be a logical place to
look for such housing on short notice on a holiday weekend. I'm hoping
that if 3-4 coops can come up with 2-3 slots each then this logistical
problem will be reasonably easily solved.
The activists will just require a place to sleep each night and access
to a bathroom/shower. They will not need meals--although they may be
interested in meals if the option is available. I'm sure they will
happily comply with whatever entry/exit restrictions and house rules
that each coop may have.
The activists are all pretty broke, and are hoping to find someplace
free to stay, but if a given coop asks for a small nightly donation, I'm
certain it wouldn't be a big deal.
So that's the situation.
If folks could get back to me within a couple of days, that would help
muchly.
Many, many thanks,
Jason Pramas
